New models for wood sourcing sought through the Local-Fibre -Project

Finland's bioecomony struggles to cope with the costs that attach themselves, during the process of harvesting and delivery logistics, to internationally quite competitively priced wood by the time it is actually delivered to the user. KaiCell Fibers participates in the Local-Fibre project, which will adopt a fresh and unbiased approach to the industrial wood value chain with a view to explore new and better models. A team of leading experts in the field will analyse the value chain from root to mill in detail. The project is designed to serve a broad range of bioeconomy actors, development organisations, companies and government agencies in the Kainuu region. Completion is scheduled for autumn 2017.
